点废成绿 Greening the Beige (GtB) is an eco-minded arts collective and not-for-profit community network dedicated to nurturing awareness of environmental issues. 点废成绿 GtB promotes and celebrates earth friendly artists and organizations in Beijing.

Beijing's landfills are getting full fast! Reduce the "trash" you throw away by purchasing products with minimal packaging. Look for reusable, recyclable, and biodegrable items and remember to carry your reusable shopping bags!

GtB promotes artists, organizations, and individuals dedicated to sustainable development in Beijing. All of our events are designed to celebrate innovative, eco-minded, positive projects and creative works.
点废成绿是一个通过艺术来提高人们环保意识的公共平台。
点废成绿鼓励艺术家、社会组织和个人为北京的可持续发展贡献力量。我们所有的活动都是为了庆祝那些有创意，有环保意识，积极向上的项目和作品而设计的。

All participating members volunteer their time, energy, and talent to GtB in aims of improving Beijing's urban environment.
Funding for GtB relies heavily upon the contributions of our participants and is based on a gift economy. Since 2007, GtB has hosted several free entrance events at local Beijing venues, occasionally charging affordable ticket sales to help off-set operating costs.
Over time, Greening the Beige has come to work with several remarkable organizations, campaigns, and projects -- all focused on creating a more sustainable planet. Over the years GtB has also helped draw more attention to its many green allies and community leaders, in addition to raising funds for the Hua Dan Sichuan Earthquake Project, Roots & Shoots –Jane Goodall Institute China, and China Mangrove Action Project.
In 2010, GtB joined 51Sim, a non-profit platform and Beijing-based foundation dedicated to social innovation and environmental sustainability. All activities run by GtB are managed and supported by 51sim.org -- donations to help keep up the greening of the beige can be made through the China Charities R&D Fund (more info here).
