GREEN QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Why are we being forced to choose between the economy and the environment? We tend to forget that without an environment we would not have an economy, as everything we consume and I mean everything comes from our environment."

~ Franke James (contemporary artist, photographer, writer)

The Living Water Project

Water 1.jpg

Water is a critical environmental issue. With over 880 million people who still do not have sustainable access to safe drinking water, this is an issue that touches people in every corner of the globe.

According to the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply and Sanitation (JMP 2010 report), “Today 87% of the world's population, a total of 5.9 billion people worldwide, uses drinking-water from improved sources.” This leaves 13% of the global population without access to sustainable safe drinking water, or roughly 1 in 10 people.

Save Our Water

Water covers seventy one percent of the Earth's surface. About 97% of this water is saline, and unusable by humans, except when treated with costly desalination techniques. Of the 3% that is usable by humans, only a small percentage of that is attainable for use. The majority of water used by humans comes from rivers and lakes.
