Carbon Cube!!!!
Saturday 17 October - My Little City Fair
In a space of a couple of hours the weather changed from being freezing to boiling hot, but both extremes were completely worth it, for I got to help paint on the Carbon Cube with the children at the My Little City Fair.
It was amazing to see how the Carbon Cube caught the attention of not just children but adults, all of them interested in what we were doing and shocked by the meaning of the cube its self.
The 2m dimensioned cube represents how much carbon dioxide an average Beijinger produces in 11 hours. I was able to witness how the visual concept was a great way to create more awareness of how we as individuals have an impact our environment!
Working with Carissa, the other volunteers, organisers, parents and children at My Little City Fair, put a huge smile on my face that I could not wipe off for the rest of the day even after I had left.
Saturday 24 October –
I had to come back for round two! Today was just as amazing as the previous week, and a completely different experience at the same time. It was really cool to be surrounded by people who are all interested in and are actively helping to “green Beijing”. What I thought was brilliant about the entire event was that it was great fun as well as informative.
I hope with time more events like this can take place on a regular basis!
GREEN BEIJING!

Thanks for your great green energy!
Great post, Debs!
And how cute is little Mickey, our first artiste at the Etonkids International School "My Little City" fair?
Just to note, all of the Carbon Cubes created at Modern Sky Music Festival, My Little City, and at the Climate Action Carnival will be on display at GtB'3 from November 21-28 and set-up as an interactive installation. That means all GtB'3 participants will be able to experience the space and volume of CO2 emissions that the average person produces on a daily basis (every 11 hours in China; every 4 hours in the USA - BU HAO YISI!- the whole idea of 350 parts per million is that we can make smaller cubes in the future...)
