Beijing's landfills are getting full fast! Reduce the "trash" you throw away by purchasing products with minimal packaging. Look for reusable, recyclable, and biodegrable items and remember to carry your reusable shopping bags!

MORE FUN WAYS TO VOTE FOR EARTH

With the Copenhagen Climate Summit now underway Earth Hour is creating lots of exciting new ways to have your say on climate change and Vote Earth.

We've listed some of them here for you but make sure you keep checking their Tools and Downloads page for more ways to broadcast your vote, including our new online voting button.

MAKE A VIRTUAL LANTERN

Show world leaders that YOU think the world is worth saving by joining the Earth Hour Lantern Project. Just use our fun new virtual lantern tool to make a lantern as your vote for Earth, and we’ll send it to Copenhagen for the UN Climate Change Conference.

SPEAK OUT, GREEN PEOPLE!

A special Earth Hour event, Earth Hour Copenhagen, will take place at 7pm CET on December 16, uniting the people of Copenhagen for an hour of darkness. The culmination of this event will be UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon accepting the 'People's Orb', symbol of the collective will of our planet.
