点废成绿 Greening the Beige (GtB) is an eco-minded arts collective and not-for-profit community network dedicated to nurturing awareness of environmental issues. 点废成绿 GtB promotes and celebrates earth friendly artists and organizations in Beijing.

Beijing's landfills are getting full fast! Reduce the "trash" you throw away by purchasing products with minimal packaging. Look for reusable, recyclable, and biodegrable items and remember to carry your reusable shopping bags!
Greening the Beige is proud to introduce The Great Power Race, a clean energy competition between students in China, India and the United States.
The Great Power Race is a joint project of 350.org, the Chinese Youth Climate Action Network, the Indian Youth Climate Network, and the Energy Action Coaltion.
Currently China has 59 universities signed up. While this number is constantly increasing by the day, it still ranks last in the competition.
But that is changing day by day...
In the months ahead, all 3 nation-wide student groups will vie for 1st place in the competition by formulating and presenting projects that encompass actual emissions reductions initiatives as well as educational, political, and creative/artistic endeavors. The goal of the competition is to see which countries can generate the most innovative clean energy projects by the end of 2010, when the UN Climate Negotiations take place in Mexico.
Greening the Beige will be reporting from China and highlighting exceptional student projects over this period. Pretty exciting, no?
