8月27日星期五有两项骑车活动:

1. 星期五上午7:45骑40公里自行车(和自行车明星一起)
见面地点：张自忠路
这次很特别：一个长的旅程，在不同文化里有很多特别的经验的很有趣的人即将到达北京，他的名字是 Raymond Behm，他来自卢森堡并且从2010年5月19日开始旅行。星期五早上 Raymond将骑车到卢森堡大使馆的招待会，那将是非常好的如果很多骑自行车的人一起到达大使馆，尤其是中国自行车骑者。如果你有时间，和我们一起骑车和告诉你们的朋友们参加骑车活动，如果你不能参加，还是希望你能告诉你们的朋有今天的骑车活动帮着宣传一下。

Hello bike friends,
There are 2 events this coming Friday August 27th:

1. Morning Bike Ride:
This is very special: A far traveled, very interesting person with an exceptional amount of experiences in various cultures is arriving in Beijing. His name is Raymond Behm, he is from Luxembourg and he has been traveling since May 19th 2010.

On the tracks of Marco Polo and Sven Hedin: The Silk Road, from Luxembourg to Beijing

Luxembourg (L) -Venice (I) by motorcycle
Venice (I) -Istanbul (Tr) by ship.
Istanbul (It) - Bishkek (Kg) by car.
Bishkek (Kg) - Chinese border on horseback.
Chinese border - Kashgar (Cn) by car
Kashgar (Cn) - Aksu (Cn) on camelback
The last 4000km: Aksu (Cn) - Beijing (Cn) by bicycle

Raymond will be in Beijing Fangshan District on Thursday evening and then cycle to the Luxembourg embassy (Beisin Hutong) for a reception. It would be great to have many cyclists arriving at the embassy together. Especially of course Chinese cyclists.

There are various options:

A. Ride with us 20km from the city out to West of Liuli Bridge then ride 20km together with Raymond. I propose 2 meeting points:

A1: 7:45am Zhangzi Zhonglu crossroad (subway station) on the road going west, North side of the road

A2: 8:05am Fuxingmen (just on the bridge above 2nd ring road), North side of the road. If you want to meet us here please arrive 7:15am as we want to keep riding and not wait for late arrivals.

B. Meet Raymond and us directly at the meeting point at and then riding another 20km to the embassy:

B1: 9.30am N-E corner of Jingshi Expressway and Xiaotun Lu (That is West of the Liuli Bridge). Raymond Meeting Point

C: Meet us along our route to the embassy. As we might be quite a few cyclists we do not want to stop at a meeting point and wait for others. So in general you could join in to our ride from any point along the route. Some suggestions would be:
C1: 9:45am at Yuquan Bridge S-E corner
C2: 10:15am at Fuxingmen (just on the bridge above 2nd ring road), South side of the road
C3: 10:30am on Beiheyan St just north of Changan St on East side of road. If too many people want to join from here, then please spread out northwards and then into the separated bike lane that starts a little bit to the East. So if you have time, cycle with us and tell your friends to join. And if you cannot join, then still tell your friends and help spread the word.

2. Evening Bike Ride:
As every last Friday of the month STC will host a "Friday Light Ride"
This is a social and easy bike ride on some of the nicer Beijing streets of Chaoyang and Dongcheng district. At the end if you want we can have dinner together.

Come out and see how easy it is to ride a bike in Beijing and get around faster and more fun than being stuck in the Friday evening traffic jams. And hear some stories about the morning ride with Raymond Behm.
