点废成绿 Greening the Beige (GtB) is an eco-minded arts collective and not-for-profit community network dedicated to nurturing awareness of environmental issues. 点废成绿 GtB promotes and celebrates earth friendly artists and organizations in Beijing.

Greening the Beige (点废成绿) is pleased to announce a special CALL OUT TO GREEN ARTISTS from the GREEN LONG MARCH (绿色长征) !
The Green Long March, China's largest movement of youth-led environmental action, is co-organized by Beijing Forestry University and American-NGO Future Generations China. The March leads environmental education campaigns year-round, culminating in a summer "march" of 5,000 student volunteers from 50 universities along 10 routes crossing 26 provinces.

We are looking for artists to help design our 2009 Green Long March Map and get more folks involved and inspired by this amazing project! Our past maps have looked like this: http://fgchina.org/en/html/en/GLM_Routes.html.
This year we're working with the theme of "Energy" and want to convey different regional issues through a fun artist's feel, as seen in the new Green Map movement. For a Beijing-based example, check out the Shichahai Green Map: http://www.greenmap.org/greenhouse/en/node/1408

1. Please contact us ASAP. Deadline for expression of interest: February 18, 2009
2. Images of the map will be used in all Green Long March materials, and will receive China-wide exposure. In the past, the Green Long March has been featured on CNN, the BBC and CCTV and the map has been printed on thousands of T-shirts, posters and diaries.
3. Your map should be able to be viewed clearly in an electronic format: from a website size to as large as a 3x3 foot poster.
4. Artists will receive credit for the work anytime it is displayed on Future Generations or Green Long March partner websites, as well as on all print versions. It is a great opportunity to help promote a good cause and your unique artwork!
