May 18 Planting Session Seeds...

Green Greetings Gorgeous People!

Hugs and thanks again to those of you that joined us for the Planting Session on May 18th. It turned out to be a good mix of "lao" GtBers (like Ines, Julien, Ben, Bambie & co. from CNature, and Iris) plus a lovely load of new folks!

Our special surprise guest of the evening was "Cyclist of last Mighty" , Kim Nguyen, from Australia, announcing his December 2009 UN Climate Change Conf. campaign project: www.rideplanetearth.org (You can also check-out an awesome background story that Natan -- also in GtB attendance -- of the City Weekend enviro-blog wrote on www.greeningthebeige.org)!

Look for some cool new tools on the way including:

1. An all-year Beijing Green Event Calendar (with the ability for YOU to post your events personally)
2. A Green Discussion Forum for YOU to share and exchange ideas with BJ's green community online
3. Upgraded and Updated cool content, including (but not limited to) the online GtB Audio & Visual Artists' Gallery...

Props, thanks, and serious tree hugging love will go to GtB's cyber and visual Green Gadget (miracle-worker Ilsa) with the help of her new voluntarily attached right hand, Krisianto. So get ready for change and get registered pronto.

Also looking ahead, GreenLadyC (Carissa ) planted the theme for 2009's 3rd Annual Greening the Beige Event: ENERGY
-Directors and other key GtBers will need to submit, comment, edit and review the theme address soon!!! Starting now.

GtB 2009 events will be broken down into 3 categories/sub-themes: Fresh Water, Fresh Air, Fresh Power

= Group consensus and feedback was that more emphasis should be placed on Climate Change.

= Carissa also planted the July 18 h2o aWaRenEss event (in conjunction with www.burnerswithoutborders.org).

Julien (www.pollution-china.com) germinated his ideas for EARTH WEEK and got support from independent filmmaker Vicky Mohieddeen (UK)... more news on this cool campaign/contest project will re-appearing in the fall.

Running out of time, the "Who Has The Greenest Qu?" website writing campaign was postponed for future discussion.

One Person's Trash Is Another Person's Art Project

亲爱的点废成绿的朋友们！

再一次感谢所有参加5月18日公开计划会议的朋友们。很高兴这次见到了许多老面孔（Ines, Julien, Ben, 自然景象网/ CNature的Bambie & co., Iris)和一些新面孔。当晚我们有一位来自澳大利亚的特殊客人，Kim Nguyen，他介绍了即将在2009年11月召开的联合国气候变化会议：www.rideplanetearth.org （你也可以浏览刊登在www.greeningthebeige.org的一篇转载自城市周末环境博客中的相关背景资料。）
还要提醒大家，我们马上就会在‘点废成绿’网站上刊登许多有趣的内容。值得期待的一些新内容包括：
1. 全年的北京绿色活动日历（供您记载日常活动安排）。
2. 绿色讨论论坛，供您在北京绿色社区网络上分享并交换意见。
3. 对精彩内容进行升级和更新，包括（但不局限于）‘点废成绿’在线音频及视频艺术家画廊等。我们的网站管理员和设计师Ilsa和她的新帮手Krisianto很快将把这些在我们的网站上变为现实。
所以，快快登陆我们的网站进行注册，并迎接我们的改变吧。
展望未来，我们的绿色小姐Carissa正在积极筹备着2009年第三届‘点废为绿’活动计划，本次的主题是：能源

‘点废为绿’2009年的活动将被分为三个部分：
 纯净的水
 新鲜的空气
 清洁的能源

小组讨论及反馈的结果显示，我们应将重点放在气候变化上。
Carissa提出了7月18日的关于水的活动（同www.burnerswithoutborders.org进行合作）有关这个活动的更多详情，请参阅附件。
10月24日将举办针对气候变化的国际行动日 – ‘点废成绿’已经注册为www.350.org成员之一。

‘点废成绿’2009年第三届年会将在11月举行，
并且将成功依托于11月举办的联合国气候变化会议。

Julien (www.pollution-china.com)提议发起地球周活动，并将获得独立制片人Vicky Mohieddeen（英国）的协助。更多关于这个活动/辩论项目的信息将会在今年秋季再次向大家展示。

由于时间的原因，‘哪个小区最环保？’网站竞猜活动的具体安排将放在今后讨论。
