The Qingming holiday weekend is the official start of Spring for us. Come out for some fresh air and blue sky and help us support the elderly residents of Mutianyu. Hidden poverty of old folks is an important social issue here as it is in depopulating rural areas throughout China and, indeed, around the world.

Arbor Day Party, this Friday – Let’s celebrate trees!
爱树派对上“别吃朋友”的环保歌声及美味素食品尝也十分值得期待！

March 12th is “Chinese Arbor Day” (Tree-planting Day), and we are teaming up with local grassroots organizations to host a party Celebrating Trees! There will be local bands playing live music with environmental messages, lots of vegetarian snacks, and we will show a brief film of the recent Roots & Shoots Nature Walk celebrating trees, at which young people, together with their parents and teachers, learned about trees in Beijing and how we can all contribute to their care and protection. Local NGOs and experts will be on hand to talk about why we’ve made the choice to celebrate trees instead of planting more in the Beijing area.3月12日又是植树节啦！今年的植树节，根与芽携手国内公益宣传团队“别吃朋友”将为“大树们”举办一场别具一格的派对。届时根与芽北京办公室会和来到现场的朋友们分享植树节前根与芽孩子们与爸爸妈妈和老师一起共享自然“亲亲大树”的经历和感受，期望可以引发大家对于植树更多的关注和思考。
